Bay View and Pulaski High Schools Face Forfeiture of 2024 Football Season Due to Compliance Issues

Milwaukee, WI – In a surprising turn of events, both Bay View and Pulaski High Schools will have to forfeit all of their 2024 football games. The decision also includes a two-year ban from the playoffs. This news was confirmed by Bay View High School’s Athletic Director, Lisa Dawes.

The forfeitures stem from the Milwaukee Public Schools’ (MPS) failure to submit required paperwork. According to Dawes, the schools did not meet the criteria set by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), which governs high school sports in the state.

Dawes indicated that Bay View may consider moving forward with an appeal regarding this decision. The situation spotlighted the importance of compliance with the regulations, as staff from the WIAA stated that playing against non-approved conference opponents would indeed result in a forfeit.

The impact of this ruling is significant for both teams, which will miss out on the chance to compete not only in their regular season games but also in postseason play over the next two years. The affected athletes, coaches, and supporters are certainly feeling the disappointment of this decision as they prepare for the upcoming football season.

As the situation develops, updates will be available for those interested in this unfolding story. Both high schools are now considering their options while the community rallies behind them, wondering what the next steps will be. The importance of adhering to administrative rules is clearer than ever in this case, affecting players’ aspirations and the schools’ reputations in the athletic community.
