Hawaii High School Football Update: One Undefeated Team Remains

As of October 15, Honolulu is buzzing with excitement as only one undefeated team is left in the Hawaii On3 Massey Ratings top 25 list. This team has secured the top spot in Hawaii high school football after a strong performance, maintaining a position in the top three for several weeks. Here’s a look at how the top teams in Hawaii stand following the second week of October.

The James Campbell Sabers have taken the lead by remaining undefeated after seven games. Recently, they showcased their dominance by defeating Waipahu with a score of 55-18. This marks the fourth time this season that they’ve scored at least 50 points in a game, leading to a remarkable average of 50.2 points per game, establishing them as the top offensive team in Hawaii high school football. As the 75th-best team in the nation, the Sabers are set to face Kahuku to conclude the regular season.

The Mililani Trojans recently regained momentum after a tough defeat against James Campbell. They bounced back with an impressive 20-14 overtime win over eighth-ranked Farrington. Quarterback Tyler Dacoscos played a crucial role by completing two touchdown passes to help secure the victory. The Trojans are eager to continue their winning streak when they meet Kapolei.

Meanwhile, even with three losses this season, the Kahuku Red Raiders have shown resilience. Their losses came against top-ranked teams in Nevada and California, in addition to a challenging match against Mililani on the road. They still managed to secure consecutive wins against Waipahu and Kapolei. Their defense, recognized as the best in the state, will be pivotal as they prepare for their final matchup against James Campbell.

The St. Louis Crusaders have faced difficulties recently, suffering back-to-back losses against Kamehameha and Iolani School. Their most recent match ended in a challenging defeat, with Iolani defeating them by a significant margin. However, hopes remain high as they gear up to compete against Punahou, who recently bounced back after defeating sixth-ranked Kamehameha Kapalama.

It’s clear that the competition in Hawaii high school football is fierce, with various teams showing both strength and skill. As the regular season winds down, all eyes will be on the upcoming matchups to see if any of the remaining teams can make a statement as they aim for the playoffs.
