CLEVELAND, Ohio — As high school football enters Week 7, teams in Northeast Ohio showcased their talents with several exciting matchups this past weekend. The atmosphere was electric as communities came out to support their local teams, and the scores reflect the competitive spirit that defines high school football in the region.
In the North Coast Conference, the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin team dominated the game against Holy Name, finishing with a score of 45-27. Meanwhile, in the Akron City Series, East asserted their strength with a decisive 45-6 win over North.
Switching over to the Chagrin Valley Conference, in the Chagrin Division, Harvey pulled out a close victory against West Geauga with a final score of 41-34. Perry had a remarkable performance against Orange, shutting them out for a solid 62-0 win.
In the Lake Division, Madison triumphed over Ashtabula Edgewood with a strong 42-7 score. However, the game between Trinity and Beachwood was unfortunately cancelled.
The Cleveland West Conference saw Lakewood secure a hard-fought victory over Normandy, winning 32-24. Rocky River barely managed to sneak past North Olmsted in a tightly contested battle, finishing 17-16.
In the Federal League, Green blanked Canton GlenOak 35-0, while Brunswick also enjoyed a convincing win against Euclid, closing the game at 37-0.
The excitement didn’t stop there, as several other teams made headlines this week. Copley obliterated Cuyahoga Falls with a dominating score of 62-7. Hudson also proved their mettle by shutting out Brecksville-Broadview Heights 35-0 in the Suburban League, National Conference.
In a thrilling overtime showdown, Windham edged out Ashtabula St. John with a nail-biting 32-26 victory.
