South Jersey High School Football Players Shine in Week 1

This past week, various high school football players in South Jersey showcased their skills in thrilling matchups, highlighting some standout performances from Week 1. Fans have taken notice, and now it’s time to celebrate those who shined the brightest.

Sayvien Adams from Rancocas Valley opened eyes with his strong play, completing 6 of 10 passes for a whopping 198 yards and three touchdowns. His efforts led the Red Devils to a 44-20 victory against Pleasantville, marking their first win of the season. Over two games, Adams has now recorded four passing touchdowns.

Tyrone Baker of Timber Creek was a dual threat, contributing significantly to the team’s 27-24 win over Notre Dame. Baker amassed 100 rushing yards and scored two touchdowns on the ground while throwing for 178 yards and two more scores, including a clutch 98-yard touchdown pass to Quadir Baldwin in the final minute.

Meanwhile, Colin Beeler of Washington Township rushed 25 times for 157 yards and three touchdowns, pushing his team to a 28-7 win over Pennsauken. With an impressive average of 5.6 yards per carry, Beeler has five rushing touchdowns in just two games.

Another notable performance came from Christian Braxton of Camden, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown while also catching three passes for 18 yards and a score in a decisive 30-0 victory at Kingsway. Murad Campfield from Cherokee recorded an impressive career-high of 208 rushing yards and a touchdown during his team’s win over rival Lenape with a score of 27-10.

On the defensive side, Nick Medina from Holy Spirit stepped up remarkably, notching three sacks, an interception, and six tackles while leading the Spartans to a dominant 39-0 win over Oakcrest.
