High School Football Teams Dominate in North Coast Section Showdown

High School Football Teams Shine in North Coast Section

This past week, high school football teams in the Northern California region showcased their talent by taking on tough opponents from outside their section. The results were mostly one-sided, proving the strength of the top players in the North Coast Section (NCS).

In a notable performance, the top-ranked De La Salle and second-ranked Pittsburg football teams both hosted fierce competitors from the Sac-Joaquin Section, winning their games by nearly identical scores. De La Salle triumphed against Grant Union-Sacramento with a score of 42-14, while Pittsburg took down Monterey Trail in a convincing 42-13 victory. De La Salle will be facing Serra-San Mateo this Friday as they continue their strong start to the season.

Meanwhile, the third-ranked team, San Ramon Valley, faced a tough challenge against St. Ignatius from the Central Coast Section, managing to secure a 28-10 win. San Ramon is set to take on Soquel next Friday.

Week 2 showed impressive results for other teams as well. Only one team dropped out of the top 15 rankings, as Amador Valley fell off the list, making room for Las Lomas, who had a standout victory over Vintage with a score of 28-14.
