Boise, Idaho — The first full week of high school football in Idaho has brought some notable shifts in the rankings, as seen in the latest state media poll released on Tuesday. While every classification’s top team held onto their No. 1 spot, four new teams joined the top five in their respective divisions. Notably, Buhl emerged in the 4A rankings, while Raft River made its way into the 2A top five.

The 5A classification saw Pocatello finally make its entrance in the rankings after a hard-fought victory against Skyview, winning 29-23 in last week’s intense matchup. The excitement continues as weekend action approaches. A highly anticipated game in Week 2 features the defending state champions, Bishop Kelly, hosting No. 4 Minico.

Bishop Kelly remains a dominant force, backed by ten first-place votes. They began their season with a solid performance and hold their top-ranked seat confidently. Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain and Eagle sit at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively in the 6A rankings, following impressive opening wins over Kuna and Meridian.
