Greater Cincinnati has officially kicked off the 2024 high school football season, with a strong opening seen on Thursday when Elder secured a win against Withrow. On Friday and Saturday, teams of the Greater Catholic League-South ventured into Greater Miami Conference territory, marking some exciting matchups, especially the Moeller-Princeton rivalry which reignited after a 16-year break. In more regional action, East Central faced off against Lawrenceburg, Covington Catholic battled Ryle, and the competitive spirit of high school football filled the air.

Some notable games from Friday included a tough fight where Highlands edged past Lexington Catholic with a final score of 17-7. Although Highlands outgained their opponents in overall yardage, the scoring was tight, with touchdowns from Isaac Niemann and Adam Surrey leading the way.
