2024 High School Football Season Kicks Off in San Diego

The 2024 high school football season has officially begun in San Diego, and excitement is in the air as teams prepare to compete. With a mix of talented new players and seasoned veterans, fans can look forward to a thrilling season. As part of the lead-up, SBLive has compiled its All-CIF San Diego Section preseason high school football team, showcasing some of the best talents expected to shine this year.

This year’s team star-studded roster features top athletes by position. For quarterbacks, players with impressive stats from 2023 are leading the way. Notably, one standout quarterback finished the season with 2,431 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions. Another quarterback made a strong impression as well with 2,281 passing yards and 23 touchdowns.

Running backs are also looking strong, with one player racking up a total of 2,507 yards and scoring 32 touchdowns last season. Meanwhile, top receivers played key roles, with another player catching 74 passes for 1,262 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Defensively, the lineup looks equally formidable. Leading defensive linemen include a player with 10 sacks and one with 9.5 sacks. Linebackers are also making their mark, with impressive tackle counts, including one athlete with 101 tackles and 2 interceptions.

Special teams players will also have a chance to shine this season. There’s a kicker who successfully made 4 out of 6 field goals and averaged a 37.8 punt average, while another player boasts a remarkable 39.8 kick return average with 2 touchdowns.
