Draft Reaction: New York Jets select WR Stephen Hill

I like the approach that the Jets are taking this offseason, and this move falls right in line with their decision to pick Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos in a trade: they’re building a ground-based attack offense under Tony Sparano, and Stephen Hill just came from one of those offenses at Georgia Tech.

He’s got the speed and explosiveness to open up the passing game deep and make Santonio Holmes’ job a lot more enjoyable than it was playing across from Plaxico Burress.  Combined with Chaz Schilens and Jeremy Kerley, the Jets have a really interesting, intriguing set of skill position players to throw Hill in with.

I don’t like their offensive line very much.  It might be so weak that they fail to establish the top level ground game they are trying to.  And the Jets still need a runner.  This is not a complete team, but very few of them are.  It’s an interesting team that pushed further away from convention in this offseason, and the Stephen Hill selection pushes the Jets even further away from convention.
