Draft Reaction: New York Giants select WR Rueben Randle
The New York Giants made Rueben Randle the final pick of the 2012 NFL Draft’s second round, a pick who will be asked to replace Mario Manningham in the starting lineup sooner rather than later. Greg Cosell of NFL Films had compared Rueben Randle to Hakeem Nicks of the Giants in the weeks leading up to the draft.
The NFC East is winning this draft.
The Giants have come away with skill position players in rounds one and two as they load up for a return run at the super bowl. They’re still a bit talent deficient on the offensive line and at the safety level, and have their work cut out for them the rest of the way. They’ll have to wait a while to pick again. But the Giants have to be happy with what they’ve done in the first two rounds and Randle has to feel fortunate that he gets to work with Eli Manning as soon as he signs a pro contract.
